Dr. ALEX MAGUFWA
As the CEO and Founder member of Mama Enlightenment Tanzania (MET), Amina Mwidau brings the innovative passion to the community and translates their importance Dr Alex Magufwa holds a Master of Science in Public Health and Food Safety from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania and a bachelor Degree in Medicine from Sumy State University, Ukraine.
Dr. Magufwa has been a Doctor in charge at Surgical and Orthopedic wards in Morogoro Regional Referral Hospital and a specialist specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is currently working at the Ministry of Health (Tanzania)-Headquarter as a Clinical Services Coordinator whose main duty is to monitor performance of clinical services delivery as well as Liaise with appropriate Professionals Bodies to ensure that Staff provide health services of required professional and ethical standards at Regional Referral Hospitals.
Having worked with women and children for more than 20 years in rural areas of Tanzania, Dr Magufwa has witnessed a lot of death of women and children which could be prevented from education, self-awareness trainings and training on livelihood techniques.Being a founding member of Mama Enlightenment (MET) Dr. Magufwa has played a great role in establishment of Mama enlightenment Tanzania( MET) as his vision of helping women and children to get better and quality health care facilities are beyond his wildest dreams. His passion is to easy their burden and feel the smiles in their faces always.
